Tree Felling

It doesn’t take long to fell a tree, as long as you have a good saw and the knowledge of how to safely bring the trunk to the ground; but, when you think of the sheer weight in the tree, plus the force with which it’s falling, it’s easily to get it wrong and cause damage to near-by property, or worse still, to hurt someone.

Our NPTC/City & Guilds qualified team will come to appraise the tree/trees in question, evaluating the ease with which they can be felled, the access to the work site, ascertaining whether there is a Tree Preservation Order in place and whether felling is the most appropriate option, before providing an estimate for the work to be carried out.

Every tree and every site is different so providing a ball-park figure for felling a tree is sadly not possible. When appraising the tree, we’ll consider the following:

  • Access to the site
  • Presence of a TPO/in a conservation area
  • Presence of any utilities within, near too or under the tree
  • Proximty to properties or roads/highways
  • State of the ground
  • Use of the site (home, public place or work location)
  • Intentions for the felled timber
  • Size of the tree/canopy and presence of foliage
  • Seasonal restrictions- such as wildlife presence or wind speed
  • Presence of any fungi, decay or damage
